Paris, January 10, 2006 – Redbus, (listed on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol RBI), the #1 neutral datacenter in Europe following its merger with TeleCity, announced the conclusion of an agreement with KDS, the leading European provider of online business travel management solutions.
For over 10 years, KDS has enabled companies to optimize the management of their business travel reducing their travel costs and providing better service to travelers.
KDS solutions are provided as ASP service. The KDS Corporate solution enables major corporations to control their travel spend, while KDS Portal is a solution dedicated to travel management companies.
As a middleman between suppliers, distributors, and buyers, the KDS ASP servers are strategically important. They manage large volumes of information from multiple sources (GDSs, airlines, railways, hotels, car rental companies). KDS also stores its customers' personal data.
In this context, KDS needed a partner able to guarantee high availability of its technical infrastructure while providing a combination of first-class services. Moreover, with customers working in such strategic industries as aerospace, defense, and energy, KDS had very strict requirements concerning SECURITY, STABILITY and RELIABILITY when choosing its service provider.
Following a call for tenders sent to four suppliers with similar technological performance, Redbus successfully stood out from its competitors thanks to its high levels of security, confidentiality, and availability. The Redbus datacenter will provide its InterSuite offer: a dedicated computer room with a backup energy supply, redundant air conditioning, and access control in order to provide a totally secure environment to host the KDS IS infrastructure and dedicated servers.
Finally, KDS will benefit from extensive flexibility and scalability in its space requirements in order to keep up with its fast growth. KDS will have a dedicated team of technicians available on site 24x7x365, and will be free to choose its own telecom operator.
